About Kim

Kim Seidel is an award-winning writer and editor who resides in the La Crosse, Wis., area with her family. She specializes in parenting, health & wellness, and family life articles. In addition, she offers her talents in editing, proofreading, and promotional writing.

Kim attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she earned her journalism degree. After working 10 years in the newspaper industry as a reporter and editor, she started her company, Seidel Ink, in January 1999.

Kim serves editors of print and on-line publications on a local, regional, and national level, as well as Canada. She brings 20 years of experience to a variety of publications, including magazines, websites, newsletters, newspapers, and brochures.

Along with editors, Kim regularly works with business owners and other professionals from a wide spectrum of organizations and companies to assist them with their written materials.

After the birth of her first daughter, she began to write extensively about parenting, health & wellness, and family life. Following the birth of her second daughter, she began to serve as associate editor of Coulee Parenting Connection (CPC) magazine in La Crosse, bringing even more personal experiences to her work.

In 2010, Parenting Publications of America recognized CPC for excellence with awards in overall reporting and overall writing. Kim won a writing award for her personal essay, “Adopting Four-Legged Family.” More recently in spring 2011, CPC won a Gold Award for Overall Reporting from the PPA for the fourth consecutive year.

When she is not writing, she and her family enjoy attending community and school events and spending time outdoors, hiking and biking in the beautiful Mississippi River region. Kim and her family are involved with the La Crosse Area YMCA, Coulee Region Humane Society, St. Patrick’s Church, and Aquinas Catholic Schools. Kim’s family, including their black Labrador, provides her with a never-ending pool of ideas, as she writes to inspire and inform others.

"Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home."
